Engine Company 54
We are a small firefighter themed restaurant and bar found in Central Wisconsin, not far from the Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial. Our menu is an eclectic mix of the usual pub grub with a surprising mix of upscale gourmet flare. The offerings run the gamut from great char broiled hamburgers ground fresh to our specifications to pan seared yellow finned tuna in Australian pepper berry seasoning. Our hands down most popular dinner is our beer battered fish fry on Wednesday and Friday.
Owner and chef Ray Merkes is a longtime member and secretary of the Port Edwards Volunteer Fire Dept. His love of the firefighting and EMS led to the Engine Company 54’s theme. The inside of the restaurant is covered with firefighter memorabilia, most of which are donated by fellow firefighters and EMS personnel and their families.
Our friendly staff will welcome you in and start you out with a cocktail or perhaps a local beer. We carry the major brands and our full-service bar can mix any cocktail you can conjure up. We also have a small but delicious selection of wines. We have 2 daily happy hours, 3pm-6pm and 10pm-12pm. You can even find pretzels and Engine Company 54’s own beer dip at the bar.
Take a look at our menu and you will find only fresh-made selections. Our appetizers are hand dipped, our pizzas are made-to-order, our meats are of the highest grade. Engine Company 54 offers daily specials including, slow roasted BBQ ribs, succulent prime rib, and bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp.
Engine Co. 54 is the home of the “L D P” [large diameter pizza], ask a firefighter they’ll explain. A huge 29 inch pizza that’s great for parties. We’ll top it however you like. If you carry out make sure you bring a truck.
